Practice Philosophy
As a psychotherapist, Shanna specializes in individual, couples counseling, and family therapy.
Shanna completed her practicum training at the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Hospital of Houston with a focus on Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Shanna J. Dominguez, MEd, LPC, NCC
Psychotherapist
Shanna Dominguez is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. Subsequently, she completed her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston. She is currently working on her Ph.D in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Shanna completed her practicum training at the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Hospital of Houston with a focus on inpatient psychotherapy, substance abuse, depression, and post traumatic stress disorder. She has worked as an adult and adolescent inpatient therapist at psychiatric hospitals. Currently she is working at Cypress Creek Hospital as an inpatient therapist where her focus is schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. She has also worked at psychiatric hospitals, Sun Behavioral Health Houston and Rock Prairie Behavioral Health in College Station, Texas. As a psychotherapist, Shanna is training in using treatment modalities to include cognitive behavioral therapy as well as dialectical behavioral therapy and the Gottman Method.
Shanna's approach to psychotherapy is to take the knowledge we already hold, the many challenges we have faced, and obtain the tools we need to make the changes in our lives that we desire.
