McJimson

I have experience in helping children, adolescents, teens, adults and families in dealing with everything from day-to-day struggles all the way to life-altering trauma. My approach is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); however, I incorporate many other techniques that allows me to provide more personalized treatment.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I provide counseling for adolescents, parents, and adults and strive to cultivate a safe space for growth and exploration. I have and continue to seek specialized training in working with teens, parents, and trauma-informed practice. I utilize a person-centered, whole-person approach and have experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and vocational/relational discernment. Sometimes achieving your goals looks like managing symptoms, like exploring boundaries or self-esteem, and we will work together on what that means for you.
Research indicates that the most important element and predictor of positive outcomes in therapy is the quality and strength of the therapeutic alliance. In short, the relationship between the client and the therapist is a very important one. Because of this, during our work together we will ensure that we are building the strongest relationship possible. Some folks may feel an immediate connection in therapy. However, often the relationship builds and strengthens over time.
I am committed to creating an environment of safety in which you can feel empowered to explore and express your needs.
